When I was going through primary school and secondary school, I had some fantastic teachers that were always in my corner - they knew my strengths, they knew where I could improve, and at the end of the day I knew that they wanted me to be the best version of myself that I could be. These ‘teacher mentors’ are a key reason why I have pursued a career in education, and were instrumental in instilling a love for lifelong learning in my blood.

I grew up in Geraldton, Western Australia. After secondary school, I moved to Perth to undertake university studies, and lived in the inner-metro area for many years. These days, my partner, son, 3 dogs and 3 sheep live on a calm and peaceful 5 acres in Bullsbrook, Western Australia.

I am an experienced educator and have been working in the education intervention space for the last 2.5 years, working with a range of students including students living with ADHD, ASD, dyslexia and dysgraphia to meet their learning and social goals. By forming strong relationships with my students and understanding how they do (and don’t!) like to learn, I take a tailored approach to learning, using multisensory activities to engage students with the Australian Curriculum. I have completed training in structured synthetic phonics (PLD Literacy) and Peggy Lego handwriting program, which informs my spelling, reading and writing teaching.

Before working in education intervention, I worked in out of school hours care at many primary schools in Perth’s northern suburbs. Prior to my education career, I worked in local government for approximately 14 years and worked in libraries, art galleries, special collections, community engagement and administration.

I hold a Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary 1-6; Curtin University), a Graduate Certificate in Business (Curtin University), and a Bachelor of Arts (University of Western Australia) and have completed Certificate IV’s in Training and Assessment and Project Management. I hold a current working with children check, national police clearance and am happy to share evidence of my credentials. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me, I am more than happy to chat.
